Guided Imagery or Guided Visualization
Guided imagery (GI) or guided
visualization is a proven scientific concept of treatment through the use
of images or visual therapy.GI is effective because mind affects body and
therefore, strengthening or altering the mind is as powerful as healing
agent to battle any physical or mental illness. Indeed, GI is recommended
in some hospitals as complimentary therapy before and after any surgery
or operation because GI helps patients prepared with mental strength and
doctor could focus on the physical treatment through surgery or operation.
GI can be used to focus on specific organs need to be treated.
GI is used for persons (sports,
leadership, military, academic, etc.) to excel in their studies or works
and it is so powerful that it could helps a person achieve goals seem not
possible in the first place.

Art
Therapist Paul, Thiam Seng, Lee
-
Mr.
Lee Thiam Seng is a Singapore born artist, art therapist, and consultant.
Paul holds a Master in Arts - Art Therapy with LASALLE College of
the Arts and a Bachelor Management Degree with Royal Melbourne Institute
of Technologies. In his research, he uses guided imagery succuessfully
as core art therapy treatment for cancer patients in 2009.

Mr. Lee
has facilitated many creative and art projects for therapeutic and developmental
for children and adult. He has experiences in running individual and group
art therapy treatment for pupils at Association for Persons with Special
Needs (APSN), women with breast cancer at KK Women's and Children's
Hospital (KKH), psychotic patients at Changi General Hospital
(CGH) Psychiatric Ward, older adults (geriatric) at Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital's
(KWSH) Day Rehabilitative Center and Geriatric Day Hospital (GDH) at CGH.
Mr. Lee conducted a research at KKH with Institutional Review Board (IRB)
approval for his Master thesis: "Art Therapy as a
Modality of Healing in Stages - For Women with Breast Cancer."

Mr. Lee
is currently running his own private practice of art therapy by integrating
it into art education, creative workshop, retreat, and available for contract
consultant
works for school, hospitals, corporate retreat program and institutions
in need of art therapy services.

Mr. Lee
is currently member of Advisory Council of Art
Therapy Without Borders, Inc. "a 501 (c) 3 non-profit incorporation
organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and networking purposes
to promote, develop, and support international art therapy initiatives
and the work of art therapists worldwide".
