Expressive Art as Therapy is a form of therapy for mind and body wellness. It uses creative form of visual experience to allow our mind to relax and recharge. It is integrated with Art Therapy, Bilateral Stimulation, Positive Psychology and Mindfulness. Our Art Therapist is a Master-level trained clinician with over 10 years of Art Therapy experience.

What is Expressive Art as Therapy

Expressive Art as Therapy is to explore and express ourselves through visual images. The Expressive Art is the core of Art Therapy for wellness and treatment. Expressive Art can provide a person or team to build inner strength, resilience, resourcefulness, mindfulness, healing and recovery. Expressive Art touches both physical and psychological part of the mind and body. Expressive Art using visual language for expression, process and product.

What Expressive Art is not..

It is not an Expressive Art for the following: doing colouring, art class lessons, art and craft activities, attending art workshop, visiting art museum or art exhibition, art competition, helping someone making art, wall painting or mural, and of course, doing art without a master-level trained Art Therapist.

To connect personal or group of individuals through art and creativity. To use art as a form of relaxation, stress release, self awareness, gaining insight, finding strength, wellness, healing and treatment. To use art as therapy help in search of inner resources, team energy, team resources management, group dynamic and bonding.

By default, Expressive Art session is private and confidential. Unless otherwise they might be harmful or post a danger to self, group, any person or the public. Written consent will be obtained to release any of the artworks, photography, video or any information in relation to the process and product of the session to the public.

The effectiveness of  Expressive Art as Therapy will depend on three main factors: 1) The experience, background and training of the Art Therapist. 2) The response from participants  3) The environment and resources available.

Some of the art materials are Pastels, Watercolour, Sketching pencils, Coloured pencils, Tempera paint, Poster Paint, Clay, Acrylic paint, Origami Papers, Natural resources, Collages, etc.
